FAO Elevate - Every Drop Counts Documentary - Active-Cooling Solar Energy System Project
February 09, 2026

FAO scientists Marco and Enrico have developed a WEFE Nexus system, currently tested at Jordan's King Talal Dam. This system reduces water loss from evaporation, a critical issue for Jordan, which loses 25 million cubic meters annually from its dams.

Upon successful implementation in Jordan and the Arab region, the system promises billions in cost savings and enhanced water security. It also boosts energy efficiency and production by 20%, providing affordable energy for farmers and extending solar panel lifespan. It supports healthier food cultivation, agricultural expansion, and ecological systems, embodying the principle: "Every Drop Counts."
