Women are vital to agricultural and food systems, producing, processing, and trading food for families, communities, and economies. Despite these crucial contributions, their work often goes unrecognized, and ongoing inequality restricts their access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making.

The International Year of Woman Farmers 2026 seeks to highlight women's roles and the challenges they face, such as land tenure, financial limits, and limited access to services. It also aims to promote empowering policies and investments, fostering synergy among international initiatives supporting woman farmers. Learn more: FAO International Year of Woman Farmers 2026
