Forest and landscape restoration is transforming degraded lands and improving lives globally. This video, produced for The State of the World’s Forests 2026 (SOFO 2026), highlights restoration efforts from Africa's Great Green Wall to China's Three-North Program, and from Türkiye's Murat River watershed to North America's Great Lakes.

These case studies demonstrate how restoration can recover ecosystems, enhance livelihoods, improve water and soil conditions, support biodiversity, and build resilient communities. Additional footage is provided by the Northwest, North China, and Northeast Shelterbelt Construction Bureau of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
