During the 20th Caribbean Week of Agriculture in Jamaica, FAO reaffirmed its commitment to transforming agrifood systems in the Caribbean. The organization emphasized the need to enhance food security, boost production and trade, reduce import dependency, and build resilience against climate and economic challenges.

FAO collaborates with CARICOM Member States and regional partners to create efficient, inclusive, and sustainable agrifood systems. This includes strengthening value chains, promoting digital agriculture, and improving food safety and market access. The role of farmers, fisherfolk, women, and youth is crucial in this transformation, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation. FAO is dedicated to turning shared priorities into actionable results for Caribbean communities and economies.
