Microplastics and nanoplastics, along with their constituent chemicals, are increasingly found in the human body, including the brain, placenta, and other organs. Few realize plastics contain over 16,000 chemicals, with more than a quarter known to be toxic.

Join Beyond Plastics, Ami Zota (Columbia University), and Ryan Babadi (Toxic-Free Future) for a free webinar on toxic chemicals in plastics. Learn about chemicals in common products like toys, packaging, and cosmetics, their health and environmental impacts, and how to protect yourself and your community.

Judith Rodin emphasizes that future preparation requires building better cities. Dozens of global cities, from New York to Dhaka, have recently endured large-scale catastrophes, including natural disasters, conflicts, and disease. In our interconnected world, these events harm vulnerable individuals, destabilize communities, and threaten entire societies.

Facing increasing city-wide risks, we must improve our ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Dr. Judith Rodin, President of the Rockefeller Foundation and author of *The Resilience Dividend*, offers groundbreaking research. She guides individuals, companies, and societies in averting disaster by fostering more dynamic, resilient urban environments.

Rodin's work explores critical questions, such as lessons from Japan's 2011 tsunami and Haiti's humanitarian aid. Her book, *The Resilience Dividend*, is available for order.

The Pathways to Planetary Health initiative at the Garrison Institute hosted an online forum on June 24. Garrison Institute Co-founder Jonathan F.P. Rose joined Kate Raworth, Leonora Grcheva, and Erinch Sahan from Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) to explore Doughnut Economics. This framework defines the goal of economics as "social and ecological wellbeing rather than growth."

The discussion highlighted its global application. Kate Raworth introduced the concept, followed by Leonora Grcheva's insights on city implementation and Erinch Sahan's perspective on business applications. This insightful forum, reflecting the Garrison Institute's "Timeless Wisdom, Timely Action," offered ideas for improving the quality of life for all.
