Martella is a researcher and reporter dedicated to climate justice and gender equality. She is a graduate of The CLEO Institute's Speakers Network Program, an organizer for the Miami Climate Summit, and has conducted research for UN Women and Development Programs. Father Charles Moore (1927-2007) was a spiritual teacher, historian, and scholar. A Stanford Law graduate, he served as Santa Cruz County District Attorney in 1954. He later became a Roman Catholic priest in 1964, holding degrees in philosophy and theology from Catholic University.

Known as "Father Charlie," he studied many languages, including Native American. His teachings blended wisdom from Buddhist, Jewish, Hindu, Hawaiian, Celtic, and Native American spiritualities, and he particularly enjoyed working with the Esselen people of Monterey County.
