Humans extract nearly 100 million barrels of oil daily, plus equivalent coal and natural gas. The IPCC mandates halving this fossil fuel flow by 2030 and eliminating it by 2050 to avert irreversible climate damage. This energy transition demands scalable, zero-carbon solutions.

Green ammonia offers a promising path. This carbon-free fuel is made simply from air, water, and renewable electricity. With billions in announced investments, led by the Middle East and Australia, green ammonia is rapidly emerging as a "new 21st-century oil," poised to transform our world.

Zac Cesaro, an R&D engineer at Siemens Energy and Oxford DPhil candidate, is an expert in green ammonia production and use, having operated the world’s first demonstrator. This talk was given at a TEDx event.

Dr. Gabby Wild's new National Geographic Kids book, "Wild Vet Adventures: Saving Animals Around The World," takes young readers on a global journey. She explores diverse creatures—from lions to tarantulas—covering their anatomy, behaviors, diets, and the challenges they face, emphasizing human-animal relationships and shared habitats.

A renowned wildlife veterinarian, Dr. Wild is also known from Animal Jam Classic. Her collaborations include the World Wildlife Fund, National Geographic, and Jane Goodall Institute. When not traveling, she works as an emergency vet surgeon. Dr. Wild holds a DVM from Cornell, an MPH from Minnesota, and is a published genetics researcher.

The forum, hosted by the City of Boulder with Bioneers as a partner, features global discussions on the economy's role in climate.

Speakers included Lolita Jackson, former NYC lead climate strategist who shaped the city's energy transition, and Robert Hockett, a Cornell Law professor who advised Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the Green New Deal and authored "Financing the Green New Deal." Colorado State Senator Steve Fenberg, a champion of climate legislation, also participated as a local panelist.

Inspired by his childhood summers at Muscoot Farm, Xerxes Libsch spearheaded a restoration project to show gratitude for the rare animal breeding camp.

Leading 25 volunteers and partnering with organizations like the Audubon Society and Cornell Lab of Ornithology, his team installed 22 birdhouses, cleared 800 square feet of invasive species, and created a half-mile nature trail.

They also prevented two tons of animal waste from contaminating a reservoir and erected an environmental learning center, transforming the farm into an inspiring educational wild space for its 135,000 annual guests.

Last year, Dejah Powell founded Get Them to the Green (G2G) to foster environmental passion among Chicago youth, especially youth of color. G2G's first initiative was a summer camp, engaging 14 young people in environmental justice, sustainability, and food agriculture.

G2G has since partnered with Gardenneers to build a school garden at Powell’s elementary school, providing hands-on outdoor education. The organization also conducts environmental education workshops throughout the city.

Now a Cornell senior, Powell believes understanding environmental problems is key to solving them. She hopes urban environmental education will improve eco-literacy and help under-resourced communities access vital local and global conversations.

Astrophysicist Jill Tarter, who inspired Jodie Foster's character in *Contact*, dedicated her career to the search for extraterrestrial life. She now directs the Center for SETI Research at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California.

Her path wasn't easy. After losing a scholarship despite excellent grades, Tarter appealed to Dean Corson. He agreed it was unfair and, after contacting Procter & Gamble, reinstated her funding.

Two decades later, Tarter, serving on President Corson's advisory committee at Cornell, personally thanked him for his belief and support.
