On November 10, 2021, at COP26 in Glasgow, the University of Cambridge’s Aviation Impact Accelerator (AIA) hosted a fireside chat titled 'Accelerating Aviation to Climate Neutrality.' Prof. Rob Miller, Eliot Whittington, and John Holland-Kaye discussed the opportunities and challenges for climate-neutral aviation, stressing a whole-system approach.

The event included a preview of the AIA simulator prototype, designed to guide innovation, investment, and policy. The AIA aims to accelerate the transition to climate-neutral aviation by building an interactive, open-source, whole-system simulator. This tool will facilitate industry alignment and decision-maker engagement, mapping pathways to achieve climate neutrality.

A COP26 event on November 9, 2021, in Glasgow, addressed "Accelerating industrial decarbonisation: Driving demand for climate neutral materials & products." European policymakers and businesses discussed cross-sectoral policies, challenges, and opportunities for achieving a climate-neutral, circular, and competitive economy, highlighting the EU's role as a first mover.

The event announced the creation of The CLG Europe Materials and Products Taskforce. This business group aims to drive ambitious European policies and initiatives, shifting material production away from fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. It will achieve this through policy engagement and evidence-based advocacy, demonstrating both environmental and economic benefits.

SMEs are vital for achieving a net-zero economy, comprising over 90% of global businesses. A COP26 session on November 3rd in Glasgow explored the challenges and opportunities for engaging SMEs in climate action, highlighting efforts by government, finance, and businesses.

The session also introduced the SME Climate Hub, a new tool launched by BSR and CISL. This free online platform provides global SMEs with essential training to decarbonize their operations, supporting their commitment to climate goals.
