Giga aims to connect every school globally to the internet by 2030, beginning with mapping locations. On March 1, Giga Day marked the launch of its fully operational Technology Centre in Barcelona. Established after a year of preparation, the Centre received generous support from the Spanish, Catalan, and Barcelona governments.

The event drew 120 public and private sector supporters, featuring speeches, panels, and demonstrations of innovative digital solutions for educational and social challenges. The Giga Technology Centre serves as a hub for developing open-source technology for school connectivity and a vital space for Catalonia's and Spain's tech ecosystem.
