Her vision, from her University of Hawaii Botany degree, is "Hawaii practices on Hawaii landscapes," linking local climate action to our connection with the land.

With diverse island climates, Dr. Kamelamela integrates community needs with policy to support understanding and management of forest-gathered resources. This empowers cultivators, managers, and consumers, recognizing the cultural and economic value of these practices.
